Colon hydrotherapy questions, results and benefits

Often times, people have a variety of questions about the benefits and process of Colon Hydrotherapy. Our goal is to provide a better understanding of its benefits, and we will answer many of your preliminary questions below. We look forward to the opportunity to discuss the process with you in person to make sure that you are completely comfortable and well informed.

The practice began in the ancient times in Egypt, as early as 1500 BC. Medical documents known as the “Eber Papyrus” reference enemas and colon hydrotherapy being used by physicians to treat fever and remove feces and mucus.

The ancient Greeks also used colonic irrigation to remove toxins for those with disease.

In the 19th century it was considered that the bacteria associated with the colon could be cleansed and toxins eliminated from the body by creating a flushing system that worked with gravity.

In 1908, Russian scientist Elie Metchnikoff received the Nobel Prize for research on immunity, and found that disease occurs due to the buildup of toxins in the body, finding that intestinal toxins actually shorten a person’s life.

Soon, Sir. W Arbuthnot Lane found that the bowel was the source of many health problems and that toxins within the colon are the cause of many diseases.

The treatment takes place in a quiet, completely private colon therapy treatment room. You will recline on a comfortable treatment table, leaving your top on and covering the lower half of your body with a drape sheet. Your body is covered throughout the entire session except when a small speculum is inserted, and this is painless and takes 5-10 seconds. The therapist remains with you in-room.

With the closed treatment, you will feel the sensation to push, but just focus on breathing and allow the device to do the work for you. With the Libbe, you will gently push when you feel the need as the device does the work for you. With both systems, you will feel comfortable and at ease once you get started. Don’t worry in advance; most clients use both devices interchangeably.

At the end of your session, you will have the treatment room to yourself to release any remaining water while sitting on the toilet. Once the session is complete, you can redress and relax with a cup of hot tea.

Absolutely not. Your body remains covered throughout most of the session. The waste tube is connected directly to the plumbing, which exposes nothing (smell or sound) to the client or therapist. At first you may feel nervous because it is a new experience, but be assured; there is nothing to be concerned about.

Yes, absolutely! Here at IADWC we value cleanliness and make sure the facility stays very clean. We sanitize door knobs, wipe down walls, sanitize anything the client may have touched in the room after each session. We always use a brand new, factory-sterilized and sealed disposable speculum and hose, both of which are disposed after each use (always insist on disposable no matter what clinic you visit). Colonics are very safe; the flow of water into the body is extremely gentle and slow. No need for any concern. As always, it is recommended that you consult with your medical doctor prior to making changes to your healthcare regimen.

Our equipment is manufactured in compliance with strict federal guidelines that dictate rigorous accountability. Disposable, single-use rectal tubes are always used and our facility is immaculately clean.

Colon Hydrotherapy retrains the muscle or bowel to regain strength and work better. After a series of colonics, most people regain the normal bowel function of at least one movement per day. In time, once the colon is strengthened with colonics (like a work out for your colon) a healthy bowel may eliminate two or three times per day as it should. We suggest you adopt a healthy life style which most may call diet. consisting of lots of raw fruit, veggies, whole grains, and omegas 3, 6 and 9 fatty acids. An overall balanced life style adjustment is important for the body to function properly; it all goes hand in hand. When you have a weak bowel, you may observe a darkening of the stool because of the much longer transition time in your system. The result of this can be toxic decay, fermentation and putrefaction absorbing into your blood stream, rather than regularly passing out of the body. Our goal is to help strengthen your colon so that you will be able to go better on your own and keep your internal system in top shape.

Individuals who have hemophilia, epilepsy, use blood thinners, or have an implanted organ or pacemaker, should not use the Ionic Foot Bath. Children under the age of 18 or females during pregnancy or lactation, should not use it either. There might be other situations in which one should use a Foot Bath. If you are uncertain, please consult with your healthcare provider.

For those aged from 10 to 65, it can be used every other day. However, it should not be used more than three times a week. For those aged below 10 and over 65, it is recommended to use it twice a week.

Yes, this will not affect the session.

Waste has been building up in your colon for a long period, so more than one session is required to remove it gently. An individual may require ten to twelve sessions, depending on their health, toxicity level, and willingness to improve. It would be sensible to clean the large intestine once a month after fully the number of colonics needed to remove a lifetime of impacted waste.

The major benefits are:

  • It helps in the release of gastrointestinal toxins and fecal matter.
  • Blood cleansing.
  • Strengthens the immune system.
  • Helps restore the optimum pH balance in both the colon and body.
  • Reduces the risk of colon cancer

Yes, having a colonic during periods is usually an excellent time, as your body is already in the cleansing mode. Generally, I do not recommend wearing a tampon during a colonic, but if it makes you feel comfortable, you can use it. I will certainly recommend replacing the tampon after a colonic.

The ear candle affects ear wax, gas exchange, moisture, and deposits of the fungus because of its length, design, and shape, from deep inside your ear membranes, sinus cavities, and ear canal.

We recommend that women steam two to three times a month as part of an overall self-care plan, even during weeks when you do not have periods. Women suffering from exhaustion, bloating, or menstrual pain should steam two to three times within the week before menstruation. Women experiencing fertility problems should steam once a week, and maybe twice during pre-ovulation to ensure the tissue is moist, and the cervical fluids are clear and abundant. You can expect three months of steaming before you see results. For the post-partum, yoni steam should be made three times a week for a month to promote uterine and vaginal healing and toning (please ensure that there are no open wounds and bleeding). Women experiencing or having passed the menopause should steam for maintenance at least three times a year. However, one may steam more frequently if it feels right. If your problems are severe, you may need to steam up to three days a week to get the most out of it.

Yoni steams the uterine lining to shed any excessive build-up every month. This is important to remember, as the uterine lining is built up during pregnancy to nourish the fertilized egg and developing fetus. Therefore, in those cases, anything that causes the uterus to contract and cleanse itself, such as yoni steam, should be avoided so that the lining remains intact.

After doing a yoni steam, your menstrual cycle can change. Frequently, much material is “encrusted” to the inside of your womb, which is eliminated after the yoni steam. The herbs have a powerful impact on the uterus. Often, this means that your flow is going to be very slow, dark, and dense only for one to two days, and sometimes, it stretches your cycle time to remove all of the excessive deposits. Your next cycle will eventually be much lighter and pleasanter than ever before. You should not expect to see results right after the steam other than feeling comfortable and pampered (there will be no apparent discharge after the steam).
